Wander among the original temples, theaters, plazas, paths, and colonnaded streets; all enclosed within the remaining city walls. Within the city walls have been found the remains of settlements dating from the Bronze Age, the Iron Age, the Hellenistic, Roman, Byzantine, Umayyad and Abbasid periods, indicating human occupation at this location for more than 2,500 years. A local English-Speaking Guide will be included for your classic 2 hours visit of this Roman Decapolis City of Jerash. This ancient city was one of the most prosperous in the Roman Empire, and was covered by sand for centuries until its remnants were discovered in 1806 A.D.

Head through the ancient city gate and walk around the well-preserved ruins as your guide tells you tales about the city in its heyday. See its arches, theaters, and elegant colonnaded street. Snap photos of the stunning Oval Plaza, the Temples of Zeus and Artemis, as well as the intriguing egg-shaped public square framed by standing columns. Itinerary
Experience the extraordinary beauty of the desert of Wadi Rum, the rosy red sand with towering cliffs of various brownish, reddish, and golden colors on this private full day trip from Aqaba. Set off by your private, comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle to the protected desert valley of the moon, located less than an hour from Aqaba. Enjoy the views as you travel through Jordan’s desert landscapes toward the towering cliffs of Wadi Rum. Extending across a huge chunk of south Jordan, this protected valley boasts towering sandstone mountains, craggy river beds, and steep gorges; all coated in a kaleidoscope of natural rock colors, from pinks to vivid reds. Explore its spectacular beauty spots in a 2-hour tour by 4x4 Jeep with a Bedouin Driver who is your Local Guide.
Photo shoot at The Martian and Star Wars: The Rise of Sky Walker Movie Spot, explore the walk on the moon and mars, trundle through narrow gorges and red desert plains past crimson dunes, natural rock bridges and towers. Amongst this emptiness & silence, visit the seven pillars of wisdom, and the holographic pictures carved before Christ. View ancient inscriptions, and the Lawrence of Arabia Spring; a hidden oasis made famous by T.E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, where the movie has taken place. During WWI, this British officer and archaeologist fought here alongside the Bedouin Arabs against the Ottoman Turks, basing his headquarters in the valley. Many Wadi Rum sites are named after this still-revered British soldier. Have your camera ready as you pass through narrow gorges and plains, framed by natural rock arches, towering buttes, ancient caves, and red dunes. Visit a Bedouin tent to enjoy a glass of refreshing local mint tea and meet the friendly locals. If you wish,
upgrade your tour to include another two hours jeep tour to visit the large bridge.
or upgrade to a 30-minute camel ride in the desert for your exploration to make your visit extra special. When the time comes, reconvene with your driver and relax on your ride back to Aqaba, where your day trip finishes back at your hotel.

We had an incredible experience on this guided tour, which allowed us to step into the past and admire astonishing ruins that truly reflect the grandeur of ancient civilization. Strolling through the remnants of the amphitheater, we were amazed by the intricate carvings and the sheer size of the structures that have withstood the test of time. The knowledgeable guide brought each site to life with fascinating stories that made the history feel tangible rather than distant.
While the tour was well organized, we noticed that the duration felt a bit rushed at times, leaving us wanting to linger longer at some of the more striking spots. Overall, the trip was a delightful escape from our busy schedules, providing a perfect balance of education and exploration. We left feeling enriched and inspired by the captivating legacy of a civilization long gone.

Our family appreciated the opportunity to walk among the impressive ruins of Jerash during this guided tour from Amman. The highlight for us was standing in the grand oval plaza, where we could almost hear the echoes of ancient life. While the guide was knowledgeable and engaging, we felt that the tour could have included a bit more time for exploration on our own.
