If you want to experience the incredible richness of natural beauty and diverse landscapes that Bolivia has to offer, a tour of El Salar de Uyuni is a great way to do it having in mind it is the world's largest salt flat.

The best time to go really depends on your preference of what you want to see, as each season offers different visuals.

Most people say it is best to go from May to November when the weather is mild, but keep in mind that the Bolivian salt flat plains will be dry. One thing's for certain – the scenery here is breathtaking all year round.

We had such an incredible time exploring the vast expanse of shimmering salt, especially during our sunset picnic with local cuisine—it was a highlight for the kids! A couple of long drives tested our patience, but the stunning landscapes made it all worthwhile.

Waking up to the breathtaking sunrise over the Uyuni Salt Flats was an experience I’ll never forget; the shimmering expanse felt like stepping onto another planet. While the meals varied, I savored a delicious quinoa stew one evening that perfectly complemented the stunning landscape. However, the chilly nights caught me off guard, so packing some warm layers is definitely recommended for solo travelers like me.
