A Day in Rural Cambodia from Siem Reap
This tour offer you a great oppotunity to learn how life is in a typical Cambodian village, meet friendly locals and discover their customs as well as their cultures.
Our guide will pick you up at your hotel between 08:00 – 08:30 A.M. and take you to the Kompheim village, 25 minutes from Siem Reap centre. Upon arrival, we take an ox cart ride to visit the village, you can even learn to drive it.
Later we meet up with your host family and join in the seasonal activity at that time. There are varieties of such things: rice planting, weaving thatch roofs, planting or harvesting vegetable crops. Each tour will be a different experience as what ever the seasonal activity is, depends on the time of the year, the family or the village’s needs, you will be a part of it. We will also help your host famiy plant a fruit tree.
After that, we will meet up with another family and together prepare a delicious Khmer meal for lunch time using freshes ingredients. This is a great time to share stories and discover the locals’ table manners.
After lunch, we will walk through the village, spend some time to interact with people, before calling it a day and heading back to Siem Reap, where rest of the day can be spent at your leisure.
