Day 1 : Da Nang - Arrival (-/-/-)

Pick-up at Da Nang International airport. Transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Da Nang.

Day 2 : Da Nang - Quang Tri - Quang Binh (B/L/D)

Departing from Da Nang, we will travel to Quang Tri Province, with stops at significant historical battle sites along the way. Visit the Quang Tri Citadel, Ben Hai River, Hien Luong Bridge, and the Seventeenth Parallel, which once marked the border between North and South Vietnam during the war. These sites offer a poignant reminder of Vietnam’s turbulent past.

In the afternoon, we will visit the Vinh Moc Tunnels, an impressive network where North Vietnamese guerilla fighters lived and fought during the war. The tunnels, a testament to the resilience of the local people, provide an immersive glimpse into the hardships faced during the conflict.

Afterward, we will continue our journey to Dong Hoi, check-in at the hotel, and unwind for the night, reflecting on the day’s historical journey.

Overnight in Quang Binh.

Day 3 : Quang Binh - Paradise Cave - Hue (B/L/D)

The day begins with breakfast before heading to Paradise Cave, discovered by scientists from the British Caving Research Association in 2005. Stretching 31 kilometers, it is the longest dry cave in Asia. As we approach, we cross an ancient forest, and the entrance to the cave is shaded by century-old trees, setting the stage for the cave’s mystical beauty.

Inside, visitors are greeted by a stunning array of formations, including white crystal stalactites that resemble glass pillars, as well as other spectacular geological structures. The cave’s vast interior, with its towering stalactites and stalagmites, offers a breathtaking display of nature’s artistry, formed over millions of years. The atmosphere feels like stepping into an enchanted kingdom, where the silence and beauty leave a lasting impression.

This adventure is a unique opportunity to witness one of Vietnam's most awe-inspiring natural wonders.

Overnight in Hue.

Day 4 : Hue Heritage - Hoi An (B/L/-)

We will visit the Citadel, the city's prime attraction, which encompasses the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor's Private Residence. Built from 1804 to 1833 during the Nguyen Dynasty - the last feudal kingdom in Vietnam - the Citadel is fortified by 2-kilometer ramparts and surrounded by a tranquil moat. Inside the Citadel, you can explore a variety of structures, including the Imperial City Gates, the Purple Forbidden City, as well as temples, pavilions, and beautifully landscaped gardens.

After a short break for lunch, we will embark on a boat trip along the picturesque Perfume River, making a stop at Thien Mu Pagoda. This active Buddhist monastery, dating back to 1601, houses poignant historical displays, including a car belonging to a former monk who set himself alight in 1963 to protest against the South Vietnamese regime's treatment of Buddhists. Finally, we will visit the serene Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, designed to blend harmoniously with its natural surroundings and built according to feng shui principles. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 5 : Hoi An Foodie tour - My Son Sanctuary (B/L/-)

In the morning, embark on an unforgettable bicycle ride through the picturesque countryside of Hoi An, where the lush vegetable fields of Tra Que Village offer a glimpse into the region's agricultural traditions. As you cycle through the vibrant green landscape, immerse yourself in a hands-on cooking experience. Join a local family in crafting the delicate “white rose” dumplings, a Hoi An specialty, and learn the art of preparing Cao Lau, the region’s renowned noodle dish. Alongside these, savor unique local treats like Banh Dap (a crunchy rice cracker) and Che Bap (a sweet corn dessert), offering a true taste of Hoi An’s rich culinary culture.

Day 5 : Hoi An Foodie tour - My Son Sanctuary (B/L/-)

In the afternoon, take a scenic journey to the ancient My Son Sanctuary, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the Champa Kingdom flourished from the 4th to the 13th centuries. Explore the towering temples, nestled in a lush valley, and learn about the kingdom's unique blend of Hindu influences. The site offers not only stunning views but also a fascinating look into the spiritual and political history of Southeast Asia. This tour provides a deep connection to the cultural and historical roots of the region, combining both culinary delights and ancient heritage. Overnight in Hoi An.

Our family loved exploring the vibrant markets of Da Nang, especially when we stumbled upon a street vendor selling the most delicious banh mi we’ve ever tasted. One memorable moment was our cooking class in Hoi An, where we not only learned to make traditional dishes but also enjoyed a feast of our creations together. While the itinerary was packed and sometimes felt rushed, the unique experiences and breathtaking scenery made it all worth it for us.
