We took a day to immerse ourselves in the rich heritage of Santo Domingo and found the experience quite enlightening. The highlight for us was visiting the historic Zona Colonial, where we wandered through the cobblestone streets and admired the stunning architecture. The local guide was knowledgeable and shared fascinating stories about the city’s past, which really brought the sites to life. However, the transportation could have been more comfortable, as the van got a bit cramped during the ride. Overall, this cultural tour provided us with a memorable glimpse into the vibrant history and traditions that shape the Dominican Republic.

Exploring Santo Domingo with our family was a vibrant experience that truly deepened our understanding of the island’s rich heritage. We were captivated by the stunning architecture of the Alcázar de Colón, which felt like stepping back in time. While we loved the local food and interactive experiences, the lengthy travel time back to Punta Cana left us a bit tired by the end of the day.
