Day 1 AIRPORT PICK UP TO HOTEL IN CAIRO

Arrive at Cairo International Airport, where the magic of Egypt greets you the moment you land. Our friendly representative will meet you with a warm welcome and guide you effortlessly through arrival formalities.

You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in the heart of Cairo. After settling in, meet your guide for an introduction to the incredible journey ahead, a journey through temples, tombs and the mighty Nile itself.

Enjoy a peaceful first night in Cairo as you prepare to explore one of the world’s most extraordinary ancient civilisations.

Day 2 CAIRO

After breakfast, your adventure begins at the legendary Giza Plateau, where the monumental Great Pyramids rise from the sand in breathtaking grandeur. Stand before the mighty Sphinx, its calm gaze fixed across thousands of years, and feel the awe of standing in the presence of the last remaining wonder of the ancient world.

Your journey continues to Sakkara, home to the remarkable Step Pyramid of King Djoser, the blueprint from which all later pyramids evolved. Explore ancient tombs decorated with vivid carvings that reveal stories of daily life, rituals and royal power.

As evening settles over Cairo, board your overnight sleeper train bound for Luxor. Drift through the desert under a starlit sky as delicious meals are served onboard, carrying you closer to the ancient wonders of Upper Egypt.

Day 3 LUXOR

Awaken in the ancient city of Luxor, where your representative will meet you and escort you to your Nile Cruise, your floating base for the next stage of your adventure.

Today, explore the magnificent East Bank:

Karnak Temple: Wander through colossal columns, sacred lakes and vast courtyards in one of the largest temple complexes ever built. Every carving, every stone echoes the power and devotion of ancient Thebes.

Luxor Temple: Continue to this elegant riverside sanctuary, once the site of royal coronations and sacred festivals. Walk the same path as ancient priests along the Avenue of Sphinxes.

Return to your cruise for a tranquil evening on the Nile as the stories of the pharaohs linger in your mind.

Day 4 NILE CRUISE, LUXOR

As the morning sun warms Luxor, venture across the Nile to the legendary West Bank, the ancient realm of the afterlife.

Your day begins in the Valley of the Kings, where Pharaohs prepared for eternity in richly decorated tombs that still shine with vivid colours thousands of years later.
Step inside several of these masterpieces and witness the beauty of ancient funerary art.

Continue to the striking Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahri, a stunning multi-terraced monument honouring the only woman to rule Egypt as pharaoh. Its dramatic setting beneath towering cliffs makes it one of Egypt’s most unforgettable sites.

Finish your West Bank exploration at the mighty Colossi of Memnon, two monumental statues that have stood watch over the Theban landscape for more than 3,000 years.

Later, return to your cruise and set sail toward Kom Ombo and Edfu, enjoying serene views and delicious onboard meals as the Nile carries you south.

Day 5 EDFU, KOM-OMBO - ASWAN

Begin the day sailing along the lush riverbanks of the Nile, where palm groves, villages and desert horizons blend seamlessly into ancient landscapes.

Your first stop is the fascinating Temple of Kom Ombo, a perfectly symmetrical double temple honouring both the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris. Its riverfront setting creates a dramatic atmosphere that is especially captivating at sunrise or sunset.

Next, travel to Edfu, home to the magnificent Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in all of Egypt. Its towering pylons, detailed reliefs and atmospheric halls offer an extraordinary window into the rituals and beliefs of the ancient world.

As the afternoon unfolds, continue your journey toward Aswan, letting the calm rhythm of the Nile create a sense of timeless peace.

Day 6 ASWAN - FELUCCA RIDE

This morning, step aboard a traditional felucca, Egypt’s iconic wooden sailboat, for a serene journey around Aswan’s beautiful islands. As the sail catches the breeze, glide across shimmering waters framed by golden desert dunes and lush riverbanks.

Feel the gentle rhythm of the Nile as life along the shore unfolds,  fishermen casting their nets, palm trees swaying softly, and ancient rocks rising from the river like time-worn guardians.

Return to your cruise for a peaceful evening onboard, watching the sun dip behind the hills of Nubia, painting the sky in shades of orange and gold.

Day 7 ASWAN

After breakfast, begin your day with a visit to the impressive High Dam of Aswan, a remarkable symbol of modern engineering that tamed the mighty Nile and reshaped Egypt’s landscape.

Continue to the magical Temple of Philae, lovingly relocated stone-by-stone to its island home. Dedicated to Isis, goddess of love, healing and magic, Philae’s graceful columns, tranquil courtyards and shimmering surroundings make it one of Egypt’s most enchanting ancient sites.

Next, explore the gigantic Unfinished Obelisk, left in the bedrock after a crack halted its creation. It offers fascinating insight into the astonishing precision and ambition of ancient Egyptian craftsmanship.

In the evening, board your train for the journey back to Cairo. As the train moves north, reflect on the history, legends and landscapes you’ve encountered.

Day 8 CAIRO

Arrive in the bustling heart of Cairo, where ancient traditions blend with modern life. You’ll be transferred to your hotel to refresh and relax.

Today is yours to enjoy however you choose. Wander through colourful markets, try authentic Egyptian street food, visit a local café or simply unwind and absorb the lively energy of this captivating city.

As evening settles over Cairo, retreat to your hotel and enjoy a relaxing night before tomorrow’s adventures.

Day 9 CAIRO - CITY TOUR

Begin your day with breakfast before diving deep into Cairo’s extraordinary history.

Your first stop is the world-famous Egyptian Museum, home to dazzling treasures from King Tutankhamun’s tomb and countless artefacts spanning thousands of years. Every room here reveals another chapter in Egypt’s incredible story.

Continue to Old Cairo, where you’ll visit the beautiful Hanging Church, an ancient Coptic masterpiece suspended above Roman gate towers.

Next, explore the grand Mosque of Mohamed Ali, known as the Alabaster Mosque, perched atop the Citadel of Saladin. From its courtyard, enjoy panoramic views stretching across the vast city below.

End your day in the lively lanes of Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a centuries-old marketplace filled with spices, lanterns, handmade crafts and the aroma of traditional coffee drifting through the air.

Return to your hotel with your heart full and your feet tired from a day of unforgettable exploration.

Day 10 CAIRO AIRPORT TRANSFER

After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to Cairo Airport for your onward flight.

As you depart, take with you the memories of temples, pyramids, river sunsets and the timeless wonders that make Classic Egypt a journey you’ll never forget.

We had an incredible time exploring the ancient wonders of Egypt, especially while cruising along the Nile. The overnight experiences on the boat were lovely, with cozy accommodations and delicious meals that brought us closer together as a couple. Each day was packed with visits to iconic landmarks, from the majestic temples to the stunning tombs, which truly lived up to our expectations. However, we found a couple of guided tours to be a bit rushed, leaving us wanting more time to soak in the history. Overall, it was a memorable journey that offered a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.

Exploring the iconic landmarks along the Nile was a journey that truly awakened my sense of wonder. Each day brought new discoveries, from the awe-inspiring temples to the rich flavors of traditional Egyptian dishes served aboard the cruise—I’ve never tasted falafel quite like that! My only minor quibble was a few long bus rides between sites, but the stunning scenery made up for it, leaving me with memories I’ll cherish forever.

Sailing down the river while soaking in the views of ancient temples was nothing short of mesmerizing. I did wish some meals had a bit more variety, but the fresh local dishes I tried were truly delightful and added to the experience.

From the moment we stepped aboard, the blend of history and luxury enveloped us, especially during the dinner beneath a star-studded sky, where each dish was a taste of tradition. While the itinerary was packed with breathtaking ancient sites, we did find the pacing a bit rushed at times, making it hard to fully absorb each landmark’s story.
