Kumana National Park, a favourite outing spot for the country's residents is located at the south eastern corner of Sri Lanka. One of their most prominent features would be the bird sanctuary and their wide swamp lake, which gives it all the vibe of a safari park. It is home to some famous mammals like elephants, leopards and deers etc. It's said that some rare birds were spotted in the lake and tourists rushed to witness their existence at once

Muhudu maha viharaya is a Buddhist temple situated at Pottuvil in the Eastern province of Sri Lanka. This temple is situated near a wide beach. In this temple, there is a stone statue of lord
Buddha and two statues of old kings or gods. In today also there is a Buddhist temple. This temple was built in the Anuradhapura era by king Kaavantissa. According to some folk stories Viharamaha Devi has come ashore from this place, not from Kirinda and there are a lot of archeological proofs supporting that.

The breathtaking beaches of Arugam Bay and the intriguing cultural sites I explored made this getaway unforgettable, especially with the delightful local cuisine at each stop.

We had an incredible three-day escape that blended the stunning beach at Arugam Bay with some fascinating cultural sites. The experience truly highlighted the diversity of Sri Lanka, especially during our visit to Kumana National Park, where we spotted a variety of wildlife and enjoyed a serene picnic lunch. We made unforgettable memories at the local eateries, savoring fresh seafood and traditional dishes that gave us a taste of the region’s rich culinary heritage. One minor suggestion would be to streamline the timing between the activities a bit, as we felt slightly rushed at times. Overall, this getaway was a perfect balance of relaxation and exploration!

We enjoyed a wonderful three-day escape that perfectly combined stunning beaches with cultural experiences. The wildlife encounters in the nearby park were a highlight, and we loved exploring the local sites, which added a rich context to our trip. Each meal was delightful, with fresh seafood and local flavors that really made our dining experiences memorable. One suggestion would be to include a bit more free time for relaxation at the beach, as we would have loved to soak in the sun a little longer. Overall, it was a fantastic getaway that we would highly recommend to other couples looking for a mix of adventure and leisure.

From the moment we arrived, the mixture of sandy beaches and the vibrant local culture set the tone for an unforgettable trip. We spent our days lounging by the waves and exploring the nearby national park, where the wildlife sightings were a thrill, especially during our early morning safari. Sharing delicious meals at local spots really brought us together, though it would’ve been nice to have a bit more variety on the dinner menu.
