Early in the morning, our guide will pick you up at your hotel for your trip to see the pretty temple of Banteay Srei, is also known as “Citadel of the Women”. The temple was built between the 11th and 13th century of pink sandstone, which can’t be found anywhere else in Angkor and remains the best preserved in Cambodia. Later we will stop en route for you to taste some local produce.
After that, head North for visiting Kbal Spean, one of the earliest Hindu pilgrimage sites in Cambodia. We then will trek 3 km up the hill through the dense jungle, you will be amazed by the extraordinary views over the plains and the Kulen hills. From the top, the “River of 1000 Lingas” can be seen, you will be totally surprised with the amazing Hindu stone carvings of Hindu gods, animals and phallic symbols. More interesting, during rainy season, you probably can go for a swim in the beautiful waterfall. After that, a delicious lunch will be served at a local restaurant.
Afternoon, pay a visit to the Conservation of Biodiversity, the first nature conservation center in Cambodia, nearby the Angkor Complex. The centre provides environmental education, promote wildlife conservation and train local villagers in the sustainable use of natural resources.
Our last visit will be the Landmine Museum, which promotes mine awareness and education. It also serve as a rescue center for a number of landmine amputee children that had bên brought off Phnom Penh’s streets or from impoverished rural communities. Back to Siem Reap.
