A small group horseback riding tour in the snow

Enjoy the winter magic, find peace of mind, and feel the powerful movements of a horse when walking in the deep snow in the snowy forests and beautiful frozen lake Pyhäjärvi! In the beginning, we will tack up horses together in the stable and then will go to our riding area where we will go through the safety instructions. Afterward, we are ready to begin our horseback riding adventure and enjoying pure nature! After the tour, we take care of the horses and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.

The duration of the riding time is approximately 1hour.

Step 1

Depart Nairobi hotel around 6am morning drive through lush tea and coffee estates. To Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary provides a lifelong refuge to orphaned and abused chimpanzees from West and Central Africa. The sanctuary currently has more than 30 resident chimpanzees in natural enclosures. During your visit, you’ll learn about the resident chimpanzees, and have a chance to spot them as the approach a feeding platform. Next you’ll enjoy a game drive across the open plains of the nearby Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The reserve is home to reticulated giraffes, zebras, African elephants, cape buffalo, warthogs, lions, leopards, and many, many more, including over 500 bird species. Lunch (at your own expense) Afterward, you’ll head to visit a rhino homestead, see an endangered black and white rhino.The tour concludes around 6:30pm with a drop-off at your Nairobi hotel or airport

Lucky Ranch is located near Pyhä-Luosto National park at the lake Pyhäjärvi, only 10 minutes drive from the year-round activity resort and ski resort Pyhätunturi. You reach us by car, or when booking a tour with us, you can book pick up (return transfer) either from Pyhätunturi or Luosto.
The nearest airport is in Rovaniemi, approximately 1,5 – 2 hours' drive to Pyhätunturi, and the nearest railway station is in Kemijärvi from where there is a bus connection to Pyhätunturi. (Please always check the public timetable in advance. We are also glad to help you with planning your trip to us!) Welcome!
