You'll check in to the lodge and later enjoy lunch then relax before your afternoon game drive at 4:00 pm for 2 hours. Discover and see the long awaited large mammals in this park like the elephant and the giraffe, plus numerous other grazing animals in their natural home environment. You will see the stunning Mount Kilimanjaro even if shrouded with clouds, it is all a part of the beauty. Later, you will return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay.

Main Destination:

Amboseli National Park

Amboseli National Park is  is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants. To the south of the Amboseli basin the land rises sharply towards Mount Kilimanjaro and the Kenya-Tanzanian border, while wetlands dot the landscape on an east-west transverse, giving an outstanding scenic beauty. The ecosystem’s backdrop to the south is the snow-capped Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak at 19,600 feet, adorning three scenic peaks: Shira, Kibo and Mawenzi. It also offers a scenic view to the east where the young volcanic Chyulu range and lava forests stretches into Tsavo West National Park, while up north is a series of hills, including the Losoito, Lemipoti, Ilng’arunyoni and Lemomo hills that extend into the Kenyan highlands. The wetlands including Lake Amboseli are the landscape's most defining feature. They are charged by groundwater seeps and springs fed through an underground drainage system with water originating on the forested catchments and volcanic soils of Mount Kilimanjaro and the Chyulu Hills.

The Park has a rich herbivores population of African bush elephant, Cape buffalo, impala, Maasai giraffe, gerenuks, lesser kudus, Grant's zebra, gazelles and wildebeest that migrate to the landscape in search of water and pasture during the dry season. The Park has a high elephant population of about 1,800, making a suitable habitat for this iconic species.  It is also home to large carnivores such as lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, jackal and civet. The habitats are markedly influenced by the salinity and alkalinity of the basin as well as by the high-water table. Most of the basin is covered in open short grass plains, and in the south by woodlands and swamps. Surrounding the basin, bushed grassland characteristic of the physiognomic type for the general region prevails.

Day 2 5-Day Amboseli, Nakuru, Mara Kenya Lodge Safari Tour

Start your day early and catch the sight of animals coming from hiding to feed on grass and vegetation. Gaze at the large elephant herds and be fascinated by towering giraffes. Visit the watering pool and climb the observation hill to get a clearer glimpse of the events of the day in this amazing wilderness. Breathe fresh air before you head for breakfast at 9:00 am.

After breakfast, take off driving north through winding nature-packed sights and pass through Nairobi to get to Lake Nakuru in the afternoon. Lunch is en-route.

Check-in and relax before getting to the game drive. Enjoy the flamingo party and be surprised by the abundant mix of birdlife and land mammals in this park where the white and black rhinos call home. The rest of tonight's time will be spent on buffet dinner, socializing, and a peaceful night rest.

Nakuru is an alkaline lake, which is what further draws birds and wildlife to its shores. The national park and lake are most renowned for the tens of thousands of flamingos which can reach over a million at their peak.  The best place to view the view flamingos is from Baboon Cliff.

The serene landscapes of the area include grasslands, marsh, outcrops, rocky cliffs, and sedge. Yellow-barked acacia trees add to the traditional African wilderness experience.

An area around 116 miles (188 km) has been fenced to create a protected area for both black and white rhinoceroses as well as giraffes. The park features about 70 white rhinos and another 25 eastern black rhinos.  It is one of the largest collections of rhinos throughout Kenya.

Wildlife is bountiful with a populous predator presence to reflect the abundance of prey.  Predator species include lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyenas.  Large pythons might be found as well.  Giraffe and the two species of rhino are mammalian highlights however there are several other species.  The waterbuck is more common than in other parks.

There is a small number of hippo that can be found along the reeds of the lake.  Along with the waterbuck, visitors might also see Reedbuck and Bushbuck.

Birdwatchers can hope to see African fish eagle, Verreaux’s eagle, Goliath heron, kingfisher, and of course an abundance of flamingos.  It is a spectacular place for birdwatching with over 400 species. There are over a dozen different predator bird species. The flamingo population has earned the lake and national park the slogan, “the greatest bird spectacle on earth.”

Day 3 5-Day Amboseli, Nakuru, Mara Kenya Lodge Safari Tour

After a hearty breakfast, you will leave for Masai Mara National Reserve. Masai Mara is the best park in all of Africa and has the densest animal population as well as the most varieties including the Big Five which is the most sought after by all visitors. The beauty of the Mara landscape, the fresh air, the rolling flat-topped hills, the dotting acacia, and the Mara River make Mara a home loved by both animals and those who come to pay homage. Today you will arrive and check into your room and have lunch. Later this afternoon, your guide will take you for an introductory game drive.

The Maasai community living adjacent to the reserve has for many years lived in peace with the wildlife, their land use practice has until recently been strictly pastoralism that conquers with wildlife conservation.

The annual wildebeest and plains zebra migration from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara National Reserve earned the park the status of one of the Seven Wonders of the World as its' the only migration of its kind in the world.

As the reserve is a wintering spot for palearctic migrants it is therefore of most importance and significance for in-situ conservation. It is also characterized with the largest number of carnivores in Kenya i.e. lions, cheetahs, these two species are listed as threatened and play an important role in ecosystem balance by keeping prey numbers in check.

You have just scratched the surface.

When you get back to your room this evening, you will enjoy watching traditional Masai Moran shows or dancing over dinner.
