DAY 1 MOMBASA-TSAVO EAST
Depart Mombasa at 7:00am and drive to Tsavo East which is renowned for its Red Elephants and the man eater lions (during the building of the Kenya-Uganda railway in 1890). Continue with your game drive before driving to your lodge or camp for check in and lunch. All meals and overnight at a lodge or camp of choice.
DAY 2: FULL DAY IN TSAVO EAST
Wake up early to the sounds of the wild and set out for a full-day game drive across the vast plains of Tsavo East. With your packed picnic lunch, you’ll spend the day exploring the park’s diverse landscapes, from open savannahs to the Galana River and seasonal watering holes where wildlife gathers.
Keep your eyes peeled for Tsavo’s famous red-dusted elephants, often seen in large herds, along with lions, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and countless antelope species. Bird enthusiasts will delight in spotting some of the 500+ species found here, from colorful bee-eaters to majestic eagles.
You’ll visit scenic highlights such as Lugard Falls and the impressive Mudanda Rock, a natural viewpoint where elephants and other animals often gather below. After an exhilarating day of adventure and photography, you’ll return to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and an evening at leisure under the African skies.

Day 3: Tsavo East – Return to Mombasa/Diani
After an early breakfast at the lodge or camp, enjoy a short morning game drive as you exit Tsavo East, capturing final glimpses of the wildlife and landscapes that make this park so special. Keep watch for elephants, lions, or giraffes as the sun rises over the savannah.
You will then drive back towards the coastal region, arriving in Mombasa or Diani Beach in time for lunch or early afternoon. The safari ends with drop-off at your hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Tsavo’s wilderness and wildlife.
