A special two days tour to River Kwai to visit the memorable places such as the Bridge over the River Kwai, Hellfire Pass, Thai-Burma Death Railway Museum, War Cemetery, and Mon Tribal Village & Temple. Enjoy riding the Death Railway Train passing through the wooden viaduct and boat trip along the scenic Maeklong River.

Day 1:

Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – River Kwai (Lunch and Dinner Included)

06:00 In the morning pick up from major hotel in Bangkok downtown area and drive approx. 2 hours to Kanchanaburi.

09:00 Arrive Kanchanaburi, visit Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, where interactive exhibits, short films and clear descriptions provide the context of the Japanese aggression in Southeast Asia, detail their plans for the railway and describe the horrors faced by those prisoners who worked and died constructing it. Then walk to War cemetery and memorial site nearby.

11:00 Continue to the World’s famous Bridge over the River Kwai

12:00 Lunch at a local restaurant

14.45 Visit the Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre. The interpretive centre presents the history of the Burma-Thailand railway under chronological and thematic headings, explaining the rationale for the railway, the way in which it was constructed and the hardship experienced by those who worked on it. Then you can descend the long set of stairs behind the museum to Hellfire Pass Memorial Walking Trail following the original rail bed. Then transfer to Phutakien pier and take a long-tailed boat from Phu Takien pier to River Kwai Resotel. Check-in upon arrival.

Evening: Dinner

Overnight at River Kwai Resotel/Jungle Chalet (formerly Standard Chalet)

Day 2: Resotel – Hellfire Pass – Bangkok (Breakfast and Lunch Included)

Morning: Take an exciting long-tailed boat upstream to visit nearby ethnic Mon Tribal Village and temple and transfer back to hotel

11.00 Check-out and take a long-tailed boat to Phu Takien pier and proceed to have lunch at local restaurant

13:00 Take a historic ride on Death Railway Train passing over the original wooden viaduct constructed by Allied POWs & transfer back to Bangkok

18:00 Arrive in your hotel within Bangkok down town.
