Things You Should Know Before Travelling to Fuvahmulah for Your Dive Holiday
1. Getting to Fuvahmulah
- Fuvahmulah is a single-island atoll in the southern Maldives.
- You’ll need to fly domestically from Malé (Velana International Airport) to Fuvahmulah Airport (FVM). The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.
- Domestic flights are operated by Maldivian and FlyMe. We can assist with bookings upon request.
2. Luggage Allowance
- Domestic flights typically allow 20 kg of checked baggage and 5 kg hand luggage per person.
- Extra dive gear may incur additional charges. Let us know in advance if you're traveling with heavy equipment.
3. Weather & Dive Conditions
- May to September is the southwest monsoon season — ideal for thrilling tiger shark encounters and big pelagic action.
- Water temperature: 28–30°C (82–86°F)
- Visibility can vary due to seasonal currents but remains excellent for shark dives.
4. Dive Experience Requirements

- Light, breathable clothing and sandals
- Power adaptors: Maldives uses type D & G sockets (230V)

- No touching or chasing marine animals, including tiger sharks. Always follow your guide’s instructions.
7. Payments & Currency
- We accept USD, Maldivian Rufiyaa (MVR), and major credit cards.
- ATMs are available on the island, but we recommend carrying some cash for small purchases.
8. Local Culture & Etiquette
