What makes the Gorafe Desert so remarkable is its lunar landscape, characterized by rolling hills and rock formations eroded by wind and rain over millennia. These geological formations, known as badlands, create a surreal landscape that looks like something out of another world. The color palette ranging from white to ochre to red, depending on the mineral composition of the rocks, adds even more visual appeal to this unique place.

We took a 3.5-hour tour through the different geological and paleo-ecological environments of the geopark.

This spectacular desert landscape extends over an area of approximately 40 square kilometers and is part of the region of Guadix. Although it is not a desert in the traditional sense of the term, as it is not arid, dry and warm all year round, it does offer a unique beauty and an interesting geological history.

After a morning of 4x4 adventures, we headed to Gorafe to enjoy the local cuisine in the town of Gorafe.

After lunch, transfer back to Granada, arriving at approximately 4:30 p.m.
