This 11-day cultural and adventure tour through Tunisia begins in Tunis, where you explore the Medina and the historic Zitouna Mosque before visiting the legendary ruins of Carthage. The journey continues to the Punic town of Kerkouane, the Roman cities of Utica and Dougga, and the sacred city of Kairouan, known for its UNESCO-listed Medina and the Aghlabid Basins. In the south, you arrive in Tozeur, where traditional architecture and Star Wars film sets await, followed by a camel trek and overnight stay in a Sahara Desert camp near the salt lakes. You also explore the troglodyte dwellings of Matmata, participate in a cooking class in Sfax, and finish with visits to the Medina of Sousse and the Amphitheater of El Jem, one of the largest Roman arenas. Itinerary

Day 1

Tunis City - Welcome Day

  • Welcome to Tunis. Welcome meeting at 1 pm. then out half day tour starts.

    Explore the Medina of Tunis (UNESCO), a labyrinth of souks, palaces, and historic houses.

    Visit the Zitouna Mosque, the spiritual heart of the city.

    Afternoon tour of the Archaeological Site of Carthage (UNESCO), once the seat of the mighty Carthaginian Empire.

    Overnight in Tunis.

Day 2

Tunis City - Full Day

  • Full-day excursion to the Punic Town of Kerkouane and its Necropolis (UNESCO), offering a rare glimpse into Punic civilization.

    Return to Tunis for free time in the evening. 

    Enjoy traditional Tunisian cuisine with Local family. Try dishes like couscous or Erik.

    Overnight in Tunis.

Day 3

Utica & Dougga

  • Morning visit to the ancient port city of Utica, one of North Africa’s earliest Phoenician settlements.

    Continue to Dougga (UNESCO), a remarkably preserved Roman town with temples, theatres, and baths.

    Overnight in Dougga or return to Tunis.

Day 4

  • Journey to Kairouan, the spiritual capital of Tunisia.

    Visit the Medina of Kairouan (UNESCO), filled with historic mosques and artisan workshops.

    See the Aghlabid Basins, impressive 9th-century waterworks.

    Explore Roman archaeological remains and local Islamic art.

    We Join a facinating workshop that focuses on traditional Tunisian Calligraphy Art. This immersive experience allows you to learn about the cultural heritage of Kairouan in a fun and interactive way.

Day 5

Oasis Arrival in Tozeur City

  • Arrive in Tozeur, an oasis town on the edge of the Sahara.

    Guided walk through the Medina of Tozeur, with its unique brickwork architecture.

    Sample sweets at a traditional pastry shop.

Day 6

Desert Adventure & Star Wars Legacy

  • Excursion to the desert landscapes around Tozeur.

    Visit the Star Wars movie sets, used in the original saga.

Sahara Desert Camping

  • Journey into the Sahara.

    Experience a camel trek across the dunes.

Troglodyte Wonders of Matmata & Star Wars Legacy

Culinary Traditions of Sfax

Sousse & El Djem

  • Visit the Medina of Sousse (UNESCO), a historic port city with walls, souks, and ribats.
