Restauradores Square

We start our journey at Restauradores Square, where a monument honors the revolutionaries who fought for the end of Spanish rule over Portugal during the 17th century. Here, you will also find the Hard Rock Cafe, Fábrica dos Pastéis de Nata, and Restaurante Pinóquio—places that are not to be missed in the city.

Saint Domingos Church - Rossio

Saint Domingos Church is the most impressive church in Lisbon. After it was consumed by fire in 1959, restoration took place; however, the ruins of the altar and the pillars were left intact, allowing visitors to see the extent of the devastation.

Commerce Square - The main square

The former royal square of Portugal, known as Commerce Square, was previously called Terreiro do Paço until 1755. That year, a devastating earthquake, followed by a fire and tsunami, destroyed the area and resulted in the death of more than half of the population. This square was the arrival point for Portuguese navigators, who would report their journeys and the goods they brought back from distant lands.
