The Dien Bien Phu Martyrs' Cemetery is a solemn memorial honoring the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the resistance against French colonialism. Established in 1958 in the center of Dien Bien Phu city, it holds over 6,000 graves, including many soldiers from diverse ethnic groups. As both a resting place and a site of remembrance, the cemetery allows visitors to pay tribute to those who fought for the nation’s independence and freedom, reflecting the patriotic spirit and resilience of the Vietnamese people

Stop 4

A1 Hill, also known as C1 Hill, is one of Dien Bien Phu’s most important historical sites, where fierce battles unfolded during the fight against French colonialism. Its strategic position made it a key Viet Minh stronghold, and the victory here in May 1954 marked a major turning point in the campaign. Today, A1 Hill serves as both a memorial and a popular tourist site, offering visitors a chance to learn about its history, honor fallen soldiers, and appreciate the surrounding landscape.

We then continue to the De Castries Bunker, the former command center of French General Henri de Castries during the Indochina War and another key landmark of the battlefield
