Itinerary

Day 1

  • Meet your guide in the hotel lobby at 8:00 am to get your tour started. First up on your agenda is the Tiananmen Square, the world's largest city-center square. See some of the iconic buildings in Beijing, such as the Front Gate, Chairman Mao's Mausoleum, Monument to the People's heroes and so on.

    Proceed north to see the Forbidden City, the place where the Ming and Qing Emperors resided for more than 500 years. It is the largest and best-preserved Imperial Palace in the world and was converted into a museum and opened to the public in 1925.

    After lunch, head to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Here you'll walk along the less crowded portion of the wall. You could choose to take the cable car for both ways, or take the chairlift up and toboggan down.

Day 2

  • Pick up at 8:00 am to see the Temple of Heaven where the Ming and Qing emperors performed their ritual ceremonies. Now the outer part of the park serves as a public park for locals to do exercising in the morning. Continue to walk around Houhai Lake, one of the two famous pub streets in Beijing. There are many century old Hutongs around this area. Hutongs are the old and narrow city alley way which witnessed hundreds of year's history of Beijing.

    Walk through Yandaixie street before getting on the Drum Tower, it is a popular place for locals to try all kinds of local snacks or buy souvenirs. Then climb up the Drum Tower to have a glimpse of the old part of Beijing. Before lunch, head to the Panda House in Beijing Zoo to see the adorable pandas. Then visit the largest and best preserved imperial garden in China, the Summer Palace. A dragon boat ride on the beautiful Kunming Lake, or small boat to Suzhou Street is also included.
