Saladin Citadel
Built between 1356 and 1363 during the Mamluk era, Sultan Hassan Mosque is one of the largest and most impressive mosques in Egypt. Its design is an architectural masterpiece, representing the pinnacle of Mamluk architecture with its vast structure and harmonious proportions. The mosque contains four iwans (halls), each dedicated to one of the four main Islamic schools of thought, reflecting the diversity of Islamic jurisprudence at the time.

Constructed in the 19th century and completed in 1912, Al-Rifa'i Mosque sits directly across from Sultan Hassan Mosque. Named after Imam Ahmad al-Rifa'i, the founder of the Rifa'i Sufi order, the mosque showcases intricate exterior decorations and grand columns at the entrance, captivating every visitor. It was among the first buildings in Egypt’s Islamic architecture to use cement, symbolizing a transition to modern construction techniques.

Khan el-Khalili is a famous bazaar and souq in the historic center of Cairo, Egypt. Established as a center of trade in the Mamluk era and named for one of its several historic caravanserais, the bazaar district has since become one of Cairo's main attractions for tourists and Egyptians alike.
