Itinerary

Step 1

Cai Rang floating market in Can Tho Province (Capital province of Vietnam’s Mekong Delta) is the largest floating market on the Mekong River. This floating market is a hub for transporting agricultural goods and seafood in the Mekong Delta.
At 04:30 am, Hana Tourist’s Car will offer a convenient pickup at your designated hotel/residence address in HCMC (Saigon) for an early trip to visit the Cai Rang floating market. We shall need you to depart early in the morning as the market is best during this time, and plus you can enjoy beautiful views of the sunrise on your way.

It takes a 4-hour drive to get to our spectacular floating market landscape. It will be a breath of fresh air from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), that’s for sure.

Upon arrival at Cai Rang, once we board a merchant boat, your eyes will feast on colorful boats full of mango, longan, rambutan, dragon fruit, durian, etc, and of course plenty of familiar vegetables. Make sure you try some—they are fresh from the orchards!

At Cai Rang Floating Market, you can find most of the Mekong specialties being sold here—boats full of rice, vegetables, fresh fruit from orchards, shrimp, fish, crabs, frogs, and the like.

Amazingly stunning photographs of the floating market are there!

The market wakes up early in the morning and you would see many ‘floating breakfast’ boats with plastic chairs available, turning it into a makeshift restaurant. Our Breakfasts are served by one of these ‘restaurants’ where we could taste special Mekong Delta’s fish noodle soup (bún cá) or dry noodle (hủ tiếu). You will make their day when they see you slurp like a local as you finish a whole bowl of noodle soup. Don’t be afraid to ask for more.

After that, our boat goes on to reach a noodle and a rice paper factory. Rice paper – ‘bánh tráng’ was first made in the South of Vietnam and then its popularity spread throughout the country. Have you ever held a Vietnamese roll in your hand and wondered what it was made from? Along with a huge range of Vietnamese noodles, rice paper is one of the most common ingredients in Vietnamese food. Creative Vietnamese can make tons of different dishes out of just one type of rice paper, and there are many types. The owners here are extremely eager and will try to communicate with you and show you their family traditional business as much as they can.

Then you shall have a 10-minute boat ride to a fruit orchard where we will have 30 minutes of biking around the countryside. This is the very time to leave the main tourist trail and go off-grid to discover local life. Tropical fruits and tea, together with the fishing activity shall be the next part to recharge after the biking time.

Step 2

It then should be 11:00 am. Let’s head to the biggest beautiful restaurant of the Mekong Delta on the way back HCMC, we will be pleased to serve you our Vietnamese traditional cuisine lunch.

Arriving in Tien Giang Province, we will reach the Kimmy Chocolate manufacturer. Kimmy Chocolate is the Southern’s largest handcrafted chocolate manufacturer, located in Tien Giang province, where provides stable cocoa raw material. Cocoa trees are carefully planted and taken care of by local farmers of Chợ Gạo Cooperative in Mekong Delta following Japanese UTZ standards. Passing by this place to see how they cultivate and process the cocoa trees shall be an interesting experience.
You are free to taste fresh chocolate.
We shall then continue the drive back Ho Chi Minh City and our Tour ends once we drop you at the departure place at around 17:00 PM.
