Day 1 Tour to Shaori Reservoir
  • Tour to Shaori Reservoir, Nikortsminda Cathedral and Oni

  • Shaori Reservoir

    or Shaori Lake - the largest reservoir in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti region, Ambrolauri municipality. It is located on the northern slope of Racha ridge, in Shaori basin. Designed with a landslide dam that floods the Shaor River. The Shaori Reservoir stretches from southwest to northeast for a length of 7.1 km and a maximum width of 2.7 km. The greatest depth is 14.5 meters, the average depth is 9.8 meters, the area is 9.2 km. The volume of water is 90.6 million m.

  • Nikortsminda Cathedral

    is a Georgian Orthodox Church, located in Nikortsminda, Racha region of Georgia. Nikortsminda was built in 1010–1014 during the reign of Bagrat III of Georgia and was repaired in 1534 by the King Bagrat III of Imereti. Three-storied bell-tower next to the cathedral was built in the second half of the 19th century. Frescoes inside the Cathedral date from the 17th century. The cathedral is on the Tentative List for status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

    The Synagogue in Oni is a synagogue at 53 Vakhtang VI Street in Oni in the Republic of Georgia. The synagogue is located in the Racha region of Georgia. The Oni synagogue was built in 1895 and is the oldest functioning synagogue in Georgia.

  • Mravaldzali and Shovi

  • Barakoni Church

    of the Mother of God an Orthodox church in Georgia, near the town of Ambrolauri, in the village of Tsesi of mountainous western province of Racha (modern-day Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti).Barakoni was commissioned, in 1753, by the local lord (eristavi) Rostom of Racha ([ ]) from the architect Avtandil Shulavreli who is commemorated in the inscription of the eastern faΓ§ade. It is a domed cruciform church and one of the last important monuments in the tradition of medieval Georgian architecture. The church was built of neatly trimmed stable stand stones and adorned with rich ornamentation. The church was closed and desecrated under the Bolshevik rule. It suffered further damage, though not serious, in the 1991 Racha earthquake, but was quickly repaired. Located on a top of a steep cliff, it overlooks Rioni River which is joined the Lukhuni River just below the mountain.

    Mravaldzali - XI century architectural monument in Racha. St. George's Hall Church is located near the village of Mravaldzali, Oni Municipality. The church is distinguished by unique bas-reliefs. It housed several historical sites (including the Jalal-ad-Din's helmet and the sword of Shah Abbas I). In 1894, the hall church was converted into a domed building and a bell tower was built on the west side.

    Shovi is a mountain climatic and health resort on the south slopes of the main Caucasus ridge in the region of Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, Georgia, known for its carbonated water.

Day 3 Tour to Khotevi
  • Sakinule and Tskhrajvari

  • Khotevi Archangel Church

    - a 17th century church in the village of Khotevi, Ambrolauri Municipality. The church is active and belongs to the Diocese of Nikortsminda. The church is located in the village cemetery and overlooks the Khotevi Fortress.

  • Sakinule Natural Cave in Racha

    produced in low-gravel limestones. In the cave there are ice stalactites, stalagmites, centuries-old ice columns (some columns are 8 meters high, and the circumference is 20 meters and cascades.

  • Tskhrajvari - St

    George's Shrine, 1500 meters above sea level, near Nakerala Pass, on the hill above Tkibuli, in the Imereti region.
    On the last Saturday of May of each year, Tskhrajvaroba is celebrated in Imereti, especially in Tkibuli municipality and its villages. A unique cave has also been discovered near the Tskhrajvari shrine.
