TripWays began with two adventurous cousins on a mission to explore the world. In 2006, they founded their first travel agency in Iran, offering tours across the Silk Road — from China to Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Tajikistan, and beyond. With a deep passion for cultural connection and affordable travel, they expanded operations to China by 2012, opening offices in Beijing and Shanghai, and serving over 10,000 travelers across Asia and the Middle East.
In 2016, Meysam, now TripWays’ CEO and co-founder, moved to the United States and launched a new travel venture that would eventually become TripWays.com: a global online travel marketplace connecting travelers with authentic, high-quality tours around the world.
The COVID-19 pandemic brought an industry-wide pause, but also a moment of reinvention. TripWays transformed from a traditional tour operator into a tech-powered platform focused on flexibility, curated travel, and human-made experiences backed by AI.
In 2024, TripWays introduced its AI Travel Assistant, a powerful tool that helps travelers describe their ideal journey in natural language and instantly discover matching tours. By combining advanced semantic search with real-time inventory from over 500 vetted tour operators, TripWays redefined how travelers plan and book experiences.
