Itinerary

Day 1 Kathmandu to Hugdi – Hike to Hattibang Village
  • After breakfast, we drive west along the Prithvi Highway toward Hugdi, where your journey on foot begins. A scenic 2–3 hour uphill hike through forest and village trails brings us to Hattibang, a charming settlement overlooking the lush valleys below. Enjoy your first homestay with a welcoming Chepang family.

Day 2 Trek from Hattibang to Jyandala (Chepang Village)
  • Wake up to birdsong and continue your hike through undulating paths, rural farmlands, and dense forest patches. Today’s destination, Jyandala, is one of the oldest Chepang settlements. You’ll be introduced to local traditions, tools, and ways of life. Evenings are often filled with folk songs and cultural storytelling. Overnight: Chepang Homestay Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 Jyandala to Gadi – Viewpoint and History
  • Today’s walk is rich in scenic beauty and cultural insight. Ascend to Gadi, an old fort site built by the Shah kings that now serves as a breathtaking viewpoint. From here, catch panoramic views of the Himalayas and the distant Rapti Valley.

Day 4 Gadi to Shaktikhor – Nature and Community
  • Descend through forests and traditional villages to Shaktikhor, a growing Chepang hub. Visit small community centres, the Chepang Museum, and nearby caves and waterfalls. Discover more about the Chepang spiritual beliefs and their traditional use of medicinal plants.

Day 5 Shaktikhor to Chitwan (Sauraha)
  • After a relaxed morning and village tour, drive to Chitwan, where the jungle meets the plains. If time allows, explore the riverside or prepare for an optional wildlife safari.

Day 6 Chitwan to Kathmandu
  • Chitwan to Kathmandu. After breakfast, drive (or optionally fly) back to Kathmandu. Take with you not just memories, but meaningful connections with the people and land of Nepal’s hidden hills.
