Itinerary
Step 1
Mount Kenya is the largest mountain in the country and people often need 3-5 days to climb to the top and back. However, challenging 6-hour hike, Your day begins with an early pick-up from your hotel in Nairobi before heading to Mount Kenya National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its importance as an area of great scenic beauty. At 9:00 AM you will arrive at the Naro Moru Gate to begin your hike and set off. You will hike through the rainforest to the top of the mountain with your knowledgeable guide who will tell you about the flora and fauna that surrounds you. This park is inhabited by elephants, black and white kolobas, monkeys and among others. You will also see some beautiful birds. At about noon, you will arrive at the weather station and begin to return from the mountain through the bamboo forest. At approximately 14:00 you will arrive back at the Naro Moru gate and enjoy a well-deserved packed lunch. Finally, you will make the 3-hour journey back to Nairobi.
