Itinerary

Day 1 ARRIVAL ATHENS – CAPE SOUNIO (140km – 4hrs)

On your arrival at Athens airport (or Piraeus port), a representative will greet you and transfer you to the selected hotel in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. Athens has an array of amazing hotels, and this package has the cream of the crop. In the afternoon you simply cannot miss the thrill of watching the sunset from the southernmost tip of Attica. The route from Athens, along the Athenian Riviera, is beautiful; the scenery at Cape Sounio, is breathtaking; the ancient temple of Poseidon, god of the sea, standing on top of the rock, is just majestic. In antiquity, this was an important strategic point, from which the city-state of Athens controlled the sea passage to the Aegean and Piraeus. Evenings here more often than not end with a spontaneous applause to the sun as it dives to the sea.

Day 2 ATHENS – ACROPOLIS – DEPARTURE ATHENS (50km – 4.5hrs)

After breakfast and check out, (you can leave your luggage at the reception) your tour begins, and you can explore the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. An acquaintance with the city where Democracy was born, and with one of the most significant ancient structures in the world. A well-planned tour that includes the important Athens landmarks, a guided visit to the Acropolis, and a visit to the stadium where the first modern Olympic Games were held. You will also get the chance to explore the new Acropolis Museum, located about 300 meters southeast of the Parthenon and boasting a breathtaking direct visual connection with the Acropolis Rock, the exhibits and the contemporary urban landscape. In the afternoon transfer to Athens airport (or Piraeus port) to continue with your travelling arrangements. Approx. arrival time at the airport at approx 4:00 pm. Book your travel arrangements accordingly, or book an additional night in Athens (upon additional cost, optional extra).

Due to certain restrictions in the visiting hours of the new Acropolis museum, the order of the program can be changed
Day 1: Recommended morning arrival in Athens as afternoon Cape Sounio tour starts approx at 2:00 pm. Exact meeting time announced upon arrival.
Day 2: Late drop off at the airport. Estimated arrival time at the airport is 4:00 pm, so please book the departing flight accordingly (or book an additional night in Athens, available as an optional extra, upon an additional cost)
Local conditions prevalent at the time of travel may result in modifications to the tour contents without prior notice.
Please note that the inbound airport Athens - City hotel transfers are included only as part of the package and if pre and post-night stay is booked as an extra. Otherwise additional transfers should be purchased separately.
