Besakih Mother Temple
Besakih Temple, known as Bali's "Mother Temple," is the largest and holiest temple complex on the island. Located on the slopes of Mount Agung 1 in Karangasem Regency, it comprises 22 separate temples spread across six levels. Its origins are ancient, possibly dating back to prehistoric times, and it became the state temple of the Gelgel dynasty in the 15th century. Besakih is a significant pilgrimage site for Balinese Hindus and a stunning example of Balinese temple architecture.

Mount Batur View
