We enrich our knowledge about the Roman history of Thessaloniki making a stop in the Arch of Galerius, which is located at the downtown of the city. This Arch of Triumph with impressive marble sculptures is a Part of the Roman ceasar Galerius complex.
We visit the Church of Saint Dimitrios - Patron of Thessaloniki. This is the most important early Christian church of the city and one of the oldest and largest in Greece, dedicated to the city's parton saint, Dimitrios.
The Heptapyrgion, modern Eptapyrgio, also popularly known by its Ottoman Turkish name Yedi Kule. It is a Byzantine and Ottoman-era fortress situated on the north-eastern corner of the Acropolis of Thessaloniki. Then, we walk across the Walls of Thessaloniki learning about Thessaloniki's medieval history and viewing the city from unique spots.
The Museum preserves historical facts and memories and historical heritage of Modern Greek history from the early 20th century until the liberation of Greece from German occupation at the end of WWII. The museum includes photographs of that period, uniforms of the Greek army, the air-forces and the navy, copies of artillery and ships, works of art, carved stones, maps, paintings, cards, and similar items from troops of other Balkan countries.
You are guided at the White Tower, the city's most iconic landmark, which is located along the sea promenade and was once part of the city's fortress walls.
