Our adventure will begin in the capital of Madagascar, you will have the opportunity to wander through the architectural history of the city, composed of 3 levels: the high city: in the palace where the old king and queen lived, the middle city where villagers lived and the low city that used to be covered by rice field. This tour will propose you a variety of wildlife such as chameleons, and lizards, and not only will you discover those animals but you will also have an opportunity to see the lemur flagship of Madagascar the ring-tailed lemur or the Indri or Babakoto the father of *koto*.

🏁 Tour Itinerary: 12 Days South of Madagascar

Day 1: Antananarivo

Your island adventure begins in the city center and capital, Antananarivo. The bustling capital of Madagascar is known as Tana to many travelers. With an open schedule today, just relax, settle in, or wander through the city’s diverse architectural history. Our guide will meet you at the airport and will take you to the hotel. If you arrive early on the day, contact us at Fosa Travel for information on any attraction that you can visit in town.

Day 2: Antananarivo-Andasibe

Day two sets off heading east where you’ll quickly get up close and personal with the island’s vibrant array of wildlife. Chameleons, lizards, frogs, snakes, butterflies, and Sifaka Lemurs are only the shortlist of creatures you’ll see first-hand at the Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic Reserve.
Head farther out to Andasibe, the world-renowned lemur watching paradise. In the afternoon, we will visit Parc Mitsinjo, where you can find chameleons, snakes, birds, and most importantly the largest lemur species, Indri. When night falls, perhaps your true inner-explorer can come alive as we’ll hike through the forest to catch a glimpse of night lemurs and other nocturnal friends.

Day 3: Andasibe

We can’t see it all in just one day, though. Spend hours more wandering through Andasibe National Park on Day 3. Unique, rare, and endangered all describe the species of animals you’ll see here, including 11 different lemur species. In the afternoon, the wildlife adventure continues as we visit Lemurs Island and Crocodile Park. There, you’ll walk among flora and fauna unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Day 4: Andasibe – Antsirabe

After a couple of days in nature, Day 4 combines travel and tour. We will depart Andasibe early in the morning, heading inland for 7.5 hours through beautiful highlands and valleys to the colorful and classic city of Antsirabe. The French called it ‘The city of water’ for its thermal springs. Once there, Madagascar’s iconic rickshaws will wheel you around to all the top sites.

Day 5: Antsirabe – Ranomafana

Today, we will travel from Antsirabe to Ranomafana, which means ‘hot water in the local language. Before arriving at Ranomafana, we will visit a city called Ambositra, which is believed as the capital of Malagasy handicraft, we will take a visit to a handicraft shop.

Day 6: Ranomafana

On day 6, we are going to spend around 4 hours in Ranomafana National Park, another paradise to see the wildlife, including 12 different lemur species, and also reptiles, birds, butterflies, etc. After taking some rest in the afternoon, when it is getting dark, we will start a guided night walk. Visited some night lemurs and other nocturnal animals.

Day 7: Ranomafana – Ranohira

After the visit to the rainforest, we are moving to the dry tropical area. We will take a 5 hours drive to Ranohira, a town close to Isalo National Park. On the way, we will visit the Anja community reserve. One of the best places to see the icon of Madagascar is the ring-tailed lemur.

Day 8: Ranohira

Isalo National Park is an 815km² large park with a sandstone landscape that has been eroded by wind and rain into plateaus, canyons, etc. According to your fitness level, we will do some hiking and visit some popular attractions. On the last afternoon, we will visit two major attractions outside the park, La Reine de l’Isalo (the Isalo Queen) which is a figure in stone; and La Fenetre de l’Isalo (the Isalo Window) which is a popular spot to get nice photos and enjoy the spectacular sunset.

Day 9: Ranohira – Tuléar – Ifaty

For the last destination, we will go to the seaside, after a 3.5-hour drive, we will arrive in Tulear, the largest city in the south of Madagascar. After a short visit to Tulear, we will take a one more hour drive to the north to Ifaty to visit Reniala Reserve. A unique Baobab forest and turtle park will give you an unforgettable experience.

Day 10: Ifaty

Day 10 will be a day for you to decide. You can relax on the beach, enjoy the facilities of the hotel, or even rent a boat, do snorkeling, etc.

Day 11: Ifaty – Antananarivo

On Day 11 we will take a local flight back to Antananarivo, you can buy your flight ticket. According to the flight schedule, we can visit some attractions in Antananarivo, please contact us for more information.

Day 12: Antananarivo
