Day 1 : Pick-up e trasferimento a Salina
The Aeolian Islands tour starts from Catania or Palermo airport, or from Messina city center. Transfer to the port of Milazzo Sicily and sailing to the green island of Salina. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon/evening check-in and accommodation in the 4-star Hotel Mamma Santina (or similar), our lodging for the entire duration of the Aeolian Islands tour.
Day 2: Intera giornata dell’isola di Vulcano
Breakfast in the hotel and departure to Vulcano Island. This island is the closest to the northern Sicilian coast and, despite its latent activity, it is still possible to spot some volcanic phenomena, such as the fumarole on the top of the Gran Cratere, which is also the only place from where to enjoy an unforgettable view on the entire archipelago. When disembarked you will immediately smell the sulfur that typifies this island. A few steps from the port you find one of the main attractions of the island, the sulfurous mud pool, an open-air spa where you can take advantage of the therapeutic mud or have a swim in the bubbling warm water coming from the deep volcanic activity. Chill out on the black sand beach and sneak a peek in the local souvenir shops. Lunch in a local restaurant. In the evening return to Salina island, dinner in a hotel, and overnight.
Day 3: Lipari Island Full-Day
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Lipari island. Lipari is the largest of the Aeolian Islands and sailing around it is possible to see the white wall of the Pumice Quarry. Herewith a walking tour you can discover the history of the archipelago: the archeological area of Parco di Diana dating from the Greek and Roman times, the Cathedral, the archaeological museum, and the castle, with the beautiful view from the Belvedere. In the center, you can have a walk in the main boulevard with many souvenir shops and restaurants where to have lunch with the typical Pani Cunzatu, a rich Sicilian dish made with bread stuffed with many.
Day 4: Panarea Island Full-Day
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Panarea island. Panarea is the smallest of the archipelago and also the most elegant one. Here you will breathe the charming atmosphere that attracts the international jet-set and also many tourists: blue doors and windows, fancy boutiques, and panoramic restaurants overlooking the sea where you will have lunch. Explore the church of Saint Peter and its panoramic point, and have a swim in the crystal water of Cala Junco. If you like to walk you cannot miss the incredible prehistoric village of Capo Milazzese. Here many ruins of ancient dwellings still remain in the stunning panoramic scenery. In the evening return to Salina, accommodation, and dinner in the hotel.
Day 5: Stromboli Island Full-Day
Breakfast in hotel and departure to Stromboli island. Stromboli is one of the most impressive attractions of our Aeolian Islands tour. On the island, you can relax on the black sand beach, composed of eroded lava stone, and immerse yourself in the warm water. Going uphill visiting the town you can explore the local craft shops, and we will have lunch in a local restaurant. Visit also the house where Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman lived and fell in love while shooting the movie Stromboli-Terra di Dio. Stromboli island will make you feel how lively is the power of nature under the surface. You can admire its continuous and powerful eruptions of lava flowing on its slope, called Sciara del Fuoco when at sunset the sky gets darker. In the evening return to Salina, accommodation, and dinner in the hotel.
Day 6: Salina Isole Eolie-Rientro in Aeroporto
Breakfast in the hotel and check-out. We will spend the last day of this Aeolian Islands tour visiting Salina Aeolian Islands, the second-largest island of the archipelago. Here you will enjoy some time on the beach and reach the lighthouse before having lunch in a local restaurant. In the afternoon sailing to the port of Milazzo and transfer to Catania or Palermo airport. We will share a goodbye hoping to see our guests back to Sicily soon!
