Day 1: Lima Food Tour
Meet your friendly local guide in Lima’s main square. After learning a little more about the historical landmarks surrounding the Plaza Mayor, your guide will take you to taste and learn more about some exquisite Peruvian food. As you will learn, the result of the current Peruvian cuisine was born from various influences that came in with migratory waves throughout the history of the country. During this off the beaten path experience, we will take you to places that very few tourists get to visit while in Lima. You will visit the Central Market, the largest market in Lima. There you will taste local fruits as well as products that come directly to us from the country’s small producers. Then, your guide will walk you through the streets of our very own Chinatown, where you will try the Cantonese-Peruvian fried-rice called here arroz chaufa. It is undoubtedly the flagship dish of the chifas – that’s how Peruvians call their Cantonese restaurants. This authentic tour is a perfect experience combining the history of Peru, the daily life of the locals, and the delicious Peruvian food. Come hungry, there is plenty of tasty food to eat!
