I would recommend Mr. Ahmed and his tour company to any of my friends going to Egypt. He was there to greet me at the airport and had a welcome pack which included a wifi package. This was great to have for the week and made communication easy. My driver was excellent and drove around the chaotic streets of Cairo with expertise and always with a smile. Abdullah, my guide, couldn’t do enough and had a well of knowledge. I learned so much from him. Thank you for giving me a great ‘ Marhaba’ to Egypt.

The first day I was picked up at Cairo airport after getting my tourist visa and baggage outside the terminal by Nasser and the tour driver Walheed. They drove me to the Soluxe Cairo Hotel in Giza where I was able to get my wonderful room right away although it was 10:30 AM. Nasser told it would be best if I just stayed in the hotel until I would pick me up the next morning at 8:00 AM. I did go around the corner of the street the hotel was located to use the ATM to get Egyptian Pounds. One should probably get money at the airport. The Soluxe Cairo Hotel has a rooftop that you can get a view of the pyramids as well as massage. I spent most of the day by the wonderful, clean pool. Whenever, I had trouble with WiFi, I would go to the front desk for help or the connection would become better than the room. A nice buffet breakfast comes with the tour. Lunch and dinner are served at the hotel restaurant with big proportions at reasonable prices. Wine and beer are available. You can pay in US dollars also. The hotel also has a small snack shop and billiards table. The tour itself was wonderful with a private car driven excellent by Walheed in the rough Cairo traffic. Nasser was a wonderful, personable guide who made me feel so comfortable in a new environment. The first day was spent at the Pyramids of Giza, where I was allowed to take as much time as necessary to visit each area of the Giza plateau including a camel ride if you wanted. I wouldn’t bother paying the extra fee to go into the tomb at Khufu’s Great Pyramid, as later you will be able to crawl into the crumbling pyramid of Unas at Saqqara. The last place we visited was the Sphinx. Seeing it In person was much more impressive than I expected. Nasser loves to take photos of his guest with the surrounding historical sights. After visiting the Giza Pyramids, we left to go south to Saqqara and the Step-Pyramid of Djoser and other monuments and pyramids. As we neared the site, I took pictures of the heavily weighted date palms trees in the area. You got to visit the tomb with hieroglyphics on the walls of Unas and later in the tomb of his granddaughter. Next we went to a Papyrus Institute for a demonstration of how papyrus was made and a chance to buy some good quality papyrus scenes of the Pharoah’s lives. I already had bought some excellent drawings at Luxor two years ago for some close relatives. Next we went back to a buffet restaurant near Saqqara for lunch. Excellent food with much quantity. Next, I was taken in Memphis to see a small rug factory which was interesting to see the actual creation of rugs by the various workers. It is very labor intensive so they only work 3 to 4 hours per day. They showed me a room of the various types of rugs including the more expensive silk rugs. Next, as a extra part of the tour, I was taken to a small area where a huge limestone statue of Ramses II lies. I was then taken back to my hotel. The next day, at 7:15 I was driven to Alexandria to see The Pillars of Pompey (actually a triumphal column for Emperor Diocletian), the 15th Century Citadel of Quitbay, and the New Alexandria Library with a nice lunch with a fish entree in the harbor near the Citadel with a view of the Library. The drive back included a stop for tea with Nasser and Walheed. The next day, we went to the old Egyptian Museum of Antiquities to see some historical statues and objects from the various dynasties including King Tut’s. To take photos, you must pay an additional 50 Egyptian Pounds ($3.00) which is well worth the price. A portion of King Tut’s treasures was not available for photos. However, you can go to the bookstore at the museum to buy excellent quality postcards of those exhibits. Nasser did a wonderful job, guiding me through the most important sections of the museum. I took about 25 minutes later to go back over some sections and to see others. Next, we went to see the Citadel of Sala-din on Old Cairo. The grounds and building were impressive. Included, was a visit to the Mosque of Muhamed Ali. Photos were allowed at all parts of this tour. Next, we went to a buffet lunch near the Coptic Church section. Nasser again gave a great tour and explanation of the various Coptic churches that we visited. I was most impressed by the beautiful inside of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George. However, I also liked the relics inside the Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church). Again, Nasser gave wonderful explanations of the histories of these various Coptic Churches. We also visited the Ben Ezra Synagogue in the area. The next day, despite a late flight from Cairo, Walheed picked me up at 6 PM to drive me to the airport to catch my flight. Nasser also made an arraingement via Hamed to allow me to stay in my room at the Soluxe Cairo Hotel until 4:00 PM. I am so pleased with this tour.e\ The big surprise was a personal tour with driver and guide. I expected to be in a van with a few other guests. I was treated like British Royalty by Walheed and Nasser.
