🏁 Tour Itinerary: The intimacy of the Atlas and the South Mountain Trekking

Day 1: It’s time to Acclimatize

Morocco is a world far away in sights, smells, and sounds. A private transfer from the airport to your hotel.
To get to know the Red City; venture to Jemaa el-Fna and stroll through the souks instead of the nooks and crannies of the north, Then get lost in the terracotta walls of the old town but do not get agitated by the frenzy of sounds, vehicles.
When it all gets too much, find a romantic spot on a rooftop terrace around Jemaa el-Fna, order a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice, and watch the crowds from above as the sun goes down.
Dinner will be outside tonight, then transfer back to your hotel.

 

Day 2: Marrakech – Ouzoud waterfall – Azilal – Aït Bougumez valley (B)

Departure in 4×4 towards the High Atlas towards the valley of Ait Bougmez, also called “the happy valley or the peaceful valley” …. After crossing the plain of Elhouz, we visit the famous waterfall of Ouzoud at ( 110m high). It is one of the most famous natural attractions of the Moroccan Atlas. At the top of the Ouzoud waterfalls, there are some small old mills, which still work today. Pretty monkeys can be seen during your visit to Ouzoud Waterfalls. We continue our journey through the Aghbar pass (2300m) with its fascinating view of Mgoun (4168m), the second-highest peak in Morocco. At the end of the afternoon, we arrive at the village of Agouti in the valley of Ait Bougmez.

Day 3: Aït Bougumez Valley – Zawyat Ahnsal – Cathedral Rock – Anergui (B)

The best time of the day is the “Jurassic Rendezvous”, visit the sites where numerous traces and fossils of dinosaurs have been discovered, they are impressive in size and number. We continue on the long trail of the djebel Azourki to cross the Tizi N’Isly then we will meander in the middle of magnificent forests. Passing through the village of Zaouia Ahansal, we will follow the meanders of the Oued to arrive at an ideal place for a bivouac located at the foot of the highest cliffs in Morocco, named: The cathedral, then we arrive at Anergui.

Day 4: Anergui – Lake Tislite – Imilchil (B)

Departure on a long track through Assif Melloul (The White River). We leave this unique rocky outcrop to discover the pastoral world of the High Atlas. After a series of passes that exceeds 2000 meters, we emerge on the high pastures of Zaimouzen (Khaimas village). Passage through the village of Tizi N’Isly then descend to the lake plateau named by the locals Tislit and Isli: legend has it that Isli (the groom) loved Tislit (the bride) very deeply, but their two families were against their wedding. They cried so much that two lakes formed, to this day these lakes bear their names. This legend is very important for the Berber tribes of the highlands: the Ait Hdidou and the Ait Brahim.

Day 5: Imilchil – Lake Tislit – Lake Isli – Todra Gorges – Dades Gorges – Boumalene Dadès (B)

Departure for the two lakes of Isli and Tislite, where history and legend will transport you to a magnificent world of colors, without forgetting the Moussem des Fiançailles. A small walk along the lakes, through the Assif Melloul valley (white river). You will discover the tribe of Ait Hadiddou, Ait Iaza, and Ait Brahim. After crossing the Tigrouzine pass, you will reach the Todra gorges with its beautiful palm groves. A short walk in the palm grove and continuation in the Dades Gorges. Overnight in Boumalen Dades.

Distance: 140 Km Total, off-road: 60 Km

 

Day 6: Dades Gorges – Roses Valley – Skoura (B)

After breakfast, we visit the Dades Gorges and the trail to the Valley of Roses, by the Route des Mille Kasbahs where you will discover several Kasbahs and Ksours. Visit of a beautiful kasbah in the palm grove of Skoura. Dinner and overnight in Skoura.

Distance: 280 Km Total, off-road: 50 Km

 

Day 7: Skoura – Ouarzazate – Aït Ben Haddou – Telouet – Marrakech (B)

After breakfast, departure for Ouarzazate, for cinema enthusiasts, a visit to the impressive Atlas Film Studios can be organized, then a quick visit to the Kasbah Taourirt a course complex, with a labyrinth that leads to rooms perfectly decorated, rather complicated alleys and beautiful towers.
We will visit the village of Aït Ben Haddou, one of the most beautiful villages in southern Morocco, classified as National and International Heritage by UNESCO. It is a village very famous for the shooting of films such as Laurence of Arabia, the Mummy, the Gladiator, 7 days in Tebet, Babel, and Alexandre …. You will leave the village by the trail of the old caravans coming from West Africa towards Marrakech. Arrival at Télouet, visit of the Kasbah of Glaoui, the former Pasha of Marrakech, and crossing of the High Atlas by the Tichka pass (2260m).
Distance: 250 Km Total, off-road: 35 Km

 

Day 8: Time to Say Goodbye (B)

This is your last day; after breakfast, your transfer will be ready to take you to the airport according to your flight time. Thank you for visiting us.

    Visa & Vaccination
    Clients are responsible for possessing and carrying with them a valid, acceptable passport and any visas and vaccination certificates required throughout their Tour. Information about these matters or related items (climate, clothing, baggage, personal gear, etc) is given in good faith but without responsibility on the part of the Agent. The Agent does not accept any liability if a Client is refused entry onto any transport or into any country due to failure on their part to carry all required documentation. If failure to provide any necessary travel or other documents results in fines, surcharges, or other financial penalties being imposed on the Agent, the Client is solely responsible for reimbursing the Agent accordingly.

    Changes and Cancellations by Us
    The itinerary is a guide to which we will attempt to adhere, but it may be necessary to alter this at short notice as a result of circumstances or events outside our control such as adverse weather or road conditions or any of those amounting to force majeure (see paragraph 13), or due to the operating conditions imposed by owners and operators of accommodation, facilities and transport. Your itinerary will, however, be the same in content as far as is reasonably possible, unless circumstances beyond our control make this impossible. Should weather conditions involve you in extra costs such as accommodation, transportation, and meals, these will be borne by mutual agreement between us.

    As referred to above, we may have to make changes to and correct errors in advertised and confirmed details and also cancel confirmed bookings which we must reserve the right to do. Please note, our trips may require a minimum number of participants to enable us to operate them. If the minimum number of bookings required for a particular trip has not been received, we are entitled to cancel it. We will notify you of cancellation for this reason no less than 28 days prior to departure.

    Changes and Cancellations by the Customer
    Changes to your confirmed trip can be considered depending on practicalities and availabilities, but there might be a cost associated with these changes. We do not charge an amendment fee for doing so and will only pass on any extra costs involved in providing additional or alternative services that are incurred or imposed by any of our suppliers. A change of holiday dates will normally be treated as a cancellation of the original booking and rebooking in which case cancellation charges will apply. Changes may result in the recalculation of the holiday price where, for example, the basis on which the price of the original holiday was calculated has changed.

    We promise to make sure that the trip arrangements we have agreed to make, perform or provide as applicable as part of our contract with you are made, performed, or provided with reasonable skill and care. This means that subject to these booking conditions, we will accept responsibility if, for example, you suffer death or personal injury or your contracted trip arrangements are not provided as promised or prove deficient as a result of the failure of ourselves, our employees, agents or suppliers to use reasonable skill and care in making, performing or providing, as applicable, your contracted trip arrangements.

    Special requests: Please advise us of any special requests prior to making your booking. Where possible, we will endeavor to meet or arrange for our suppliers to meet any such request. Confirmation that a special request has been noted or passed on to the supplier or the inclusion of the special request on your invoice or any other documentation is not confirmation that the request will be met. Unless and until specifically confirmed, all special requests are subject to availability. For your own protection, you should obtain confirmation in writing that a special request will have complied (where it is possible to give this) where it is important to you.

    Complaints
    *Complaints. In the unlikely event that you have any reason to complain or experience any problems with your trip whilst away, you must immediately inform your trip guide or our local agent (if we have one) and the supplier of the service(s) in question. Any verbal notification must be put in writing and given to our trip guide / local agent and the supplier as soon as possible via email.
