💎 Why we love it ?

This adventure is designed not only to guide you to the most photogenic locations carefully planned for the best light but to aid you in mentally visualizing a scene before capturing the decisive moment. Sahara Photo Adventure takes in so much more than just the Sahara Desert, you are sure to enjoy this magical carpet ride. We depart Marrakech and cross the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains. We’ll explore casbahs and stunning villages along the way before we arrive at our luxury tent camp. Here you will experience the authentic remote lifestyles of the indigenous Berber tribespeople. Be prepared for many amazing photo opportunities.

🏁 Tour Itinerary: Sahara Desert Photo Tour

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech (D)

Arriving at Marrakech airport you will meet your Guide & Driver to be Transferred to Your Luxiuse Accommodation and relax.

Day 2: Marrakech (B, D)

We meet after lunch and begin exploring the far side of Marrakech’s Medina and working our way back to our Riad. In the evening we venture outside the Medina into the new city for a completely different side of Marrakech.

Day 3: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Boumalne Dades (B, L, D)

Today we depart Marrakech and head southeast crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the amazing Tizi n’Tichka Pass. Once crossed, everything changes. From the barren desert to the stunning red rock mountains outlined by lush green river beds, the contrast is spectacular and all that is needed for breathtaking landscapes.
It takes a good two days with photographic stops to arrive at our luxury tent camp outside Merzouga. Here you will also experience the authentic remote lifestyles of the indigenous Berber tribespeople. Be prepared for many amazing photo opportunities. Our amazing day will take us through Aït Benhaddou including many wonderful casbahs and lush valleys. We will visit the Ksar and explore Berber architecture. We will explore the cities of Ouarzazate, Skoura, Roses Valley, and Dades Valley before arriving at our hotel in Boumalne Dades.

Day 4: Boumalne Dades – Merzouga – Sahara Desert (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we leave Boumalne Dades for our drive to Merzouga. Our trek will take us to Tinghir. Here we will visit Todgha Gorges. After exploring we will continue on passing through Tinjdad, Jorf, and Erfoud. Here you will begin to feel the beginning of the Saharan oasis of Tafilalet, and then finally on to Merzouga. In Merzouga, we will switch to a 4-wheel drive Land Cruiser and head into the desert to our Luxury Tent Camp, complete with hot and cold running water, king-size beds and duvets, shower, and toilet.
Once in the camp, we will position ourselves high up on a dune to capture the camel caravans passing through. Shooting in the desert at this time is truly an amazing experience, complete with a golden glow and long shadows. Here we will hopefully enjoy a magical sunset. Dinner followed by the beating of Berber drums around a fire pit. Overnight in our Berber Luxury Tent Camp.

Day 5: Sahara Desert – Boumalne Dades (B, D)

After a starry night in the desert (where temps can drop to 65º F), we are up early to climb the sand dunes and photograph a splendid sunrise. After breakfast, we will ride camels back to our driver/guide in Merzouga. After a brief break, we begin our return trip to Boumalne Dades, and depending on conditions may take a different route back. Here you will experience a truly remote and extreme Morocco. Vast barren landscapes and very small villages.

Day 6: Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we take off for Marrakech passing back through the cities of Ouarzazate, Skoura, Roses Valley, and Dades Valley. After we cross the High Atlas Mountains and back to civilization. Once in Marrakech, we check in to our luxury hotel in the new city for a completely different Marrakech experience.
In the evening we will prepare for our wonderful “Farewell Dinner”, with great fun and laughter as we discuss all the highlights of the trip.

Day 7: Marrakech (B)

After breakfast, we review photos and trade contact information and bid you farewell. We urge you to extend your stay in Marrakech and make good use of everything you will learn on our photo adventure. If you are flying out early, a Transfer is arranged to take you to Marrakech airport.

Amazing 5 star Adrar Adventures “Do not hesitate to book as an independent traveller with Adrar Adventures if you want the best adventures, memories and experiences. You will be guaranteed a fantastic opportunity to observe and experience Berber Culture, diverse scenery and view historic architecture. All bookings included pick ups from airport the accommodation was selected by the firm, and confirmed via email through Larchen the UK based brother of this family firm. We booked on recommendation from a friend and so glad we did so. The trip was a celebration of both a 40th wedding anniversary year and 60th birthday. Our itinerary was a 5 night package touring Southern Morrocco which included two nights camping in the Sahara. Everything that we requested was delivered in full, was extremely professional and captured the magic of this wonderful country. Our guide Ibrahim (son of the owner) looked after our every need, showed us everything that you read about in the guidebooks and delivered a most professional guide service from sunrises to sunsets. We will never forget climbing the sand dunes to watch the sunrise at Erg Chebbi , camel ride to the Berber Camp or sitting by a camp fire, listening to the drums playing Happy Birthday under the clear sky of the Sahara Desert. These are just a few examples of our full adventure. Use this company to get the best out of Morrocco and rest assured that what you ask for will be delivered and so much more. 100% recommended.”

I had an amazing time with the Adrar Adventure team. They took great care of us, made us feel safe and kept us well fed during our 7 day trek across the Sahara. Our group of about 30 people all enjoyed the experience and would do it all again if we ever have the opportunity to do so. If you are ever visiting morocco then I would highly recommend that you get in touch with the team and arrange a visit t the dessert. The sky above salt pits at night was something I will never forget, it was like looking at the Milky Way. That sight alone as worth the trip!

I went on the 7 day Sahara trek in march 2017 and was very nervous beforehand as I didn’t know what to expect but was reassured by the amazing Berber crew who made us feel comfortable and happy throughout the whole trip. They were very knowledgeable and were able to keep us informed about the weather and terrain for next day. Food and music entertainment on a evening was also an unexpected bonus which made the evenings really fun after a challenging day trekking.

Would definitely recommend to everyone for a once in a lifetime experience. Thank you so much to Lahcen and the team!
